Christmas Cuddly Friend Treat Bags

I made these little treat bags for our neighbour's children as a last minute gift.  These were super quick and so easy to make!  Definitely one to keep up your sleeve in case you ever need to pull something together in a hurry...

The gift bag cut file is from SVGCuts and so are the Christmas Cuddly Friends.  I love these little guys - especially when their little faces are stamped with Peachy Keen stamps.

To make them, I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo with the Silhouette Designer software.  I was able to cut all the cuties and the names out of one sheet of white cardstock - Awesome!  Here are some screenshots.
I started by building each of the cuddly friends by stacking all their pieces on top of each other.  I then grouped the pieces together and traced the outer edge to create a thin border around.
I would usually stop there but I wanted some dimension considering that I wasn't going to add any other embellishments to the bags.  So I decided to cut a few of the pieces for each cuddly friend separately to adhere them on top.  This came in handy with Mrs. Clause's for example, as I was able to stamp her face first and then adhere her glasses on top.
What a fun project and I still cannot believe how quick it was!  Honestly, I whipped these little guys up in no more than 20 minutes!
Best of all, the kids loved them!
Thanks for stopping by!

"Wintery" Christmas Gift Set

Today I'm sharing a Christmas gift set and Snowman tag I made using digital paper and SVG files from Fleurette Bloom
The little boxes are from the New "Nesting Gift Box" SVG Collection and the paper is from the New "Let It Snow" collection.  I don't often do winter themed projects as it is so hot here in Australia - especially around Christmas Time.  But when I saw the new paper collection, I just couldn't resist making something with it straight away!
For the tag, I used a Silhouette file along with this cute little Snowman file as the focal point.  I recently got some Peachy Keen Stamps but haven't had an opportunity to use them yet.  So I thought I would try them out on my snowman to give him a bit of personality.  Now that I've used these stamps, I can honestly say that I understand what the fuss is all about.  They take ink very well and give such a lovely finish but mostly, I love the variety of facial expressions in each set - they're all just too cute!
As I don't have any copic markers, I used good old watercolour pencils to add some colour to my snowman's face.  I then used chalk to add a touch of blush to his cheeks and a tint of blue all around his body.

For the most part, I used embellishments and ribbon from my stash, but I wanted something a little bigger to fill the void space under the sentiment.  I didn't have anything that worked with my colour scheme/theme so I made my own.  When I did the print and cut tag, I added a 1" circle and filled it with paper from the "Let It Snow" collection.  I stamped a snowflake on it after I cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo and then I covered the circle with an epoxy dot. Viola!  A perfectly coordinating embellishment that's quick and easy to make.

I had so much fun selecting the files, papers and embellishments for this gift set as I sometimes really enjoy to start from "scratch".  The digital world of crafting is incredible, especially when I look at a finished project and think that it all started with a piece of white cardstock... Isn't that awesome?

Christmas Ferris wheel

When taking out my Christmas decorations the other day, I came across this Ferris wheel I made last year.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was still in a good condition and that it still stood up straight!  Whoop, whoop!  Who said paper isn't durable right?

The Ferris Wheel file is from the Summer Street Carnival kit over at SVGCuts.  It took me quite a while to assemble but with Mary's awesome instructions, it was really easy to do.
The cute Rudolph is from the Christmas Morning SVG collection (there are so many fun elements in this collection - a definite "must have").  All he needed was a bit of glossy accents on his nose a little bell around his neck.  I just adore this little guy...
I also added a few elements from the paper collection (sorry but I can't remember where it was from to give credit - although I'm pretty sure it was from Bo Bunny), some rhinestones for bling and a red silk ribbon as final decorations.

For the middle, I used a star ornament from the Christmas Ornaments kit and then added a red vintage button to the centre with some red string.  I also added some of the holly borders from the Clara's Christmas Strips collection and used glossy accents to make the berries shine.
This was such a fun project and it's definitely going up again this year as part of the standard decorations for our home.

Decoarting for the Holidays with Glass Blocks

I've been meaning to blog about these glass blocks I made for quite a while.  This was my first try at doing them and I am very pleased with how they turned out.
I wanted to put lights inside but we don't seem to get the crafty blocks where I live.  So I had to go with building blocks from my local hardware and had to drill the hole in the glass myself.  Lucky for me I have a very handy hubby who assisted with this...
For the block above, I cut the "Merry and Bright" sign out of red vinyl and used the ornament files from the Comet's Candy Lane Collection to do the etching.  Big bow on top and voila!  It looks so pretty with the lights turned on in the dark...

For the second block, I used snowflake files form the Christmas in the Village and Clara's Christmas Eve kits and cut some out of vinyl whilst using others do some etching on the background (sorry, the picture doesn't really show the etching so well).  I drew a border in Silhouette DE and used a basic font to write Merry Christmas.

I love making these... So much fun and they so easy to do as well...

Santa Pants Gift Bag

I was so excited when I saw the new kit from SVGCuts today!  The whole kit is amazing but I couldn't wait to make this Santa Pants bag - it is simply adorable!
I used paper and a couple of stickers from Lost and Found collection by My Mind's Eye, but anything would look great with this file.
Below is a close-up picture of the buckle (which I initially forgot).  I used POP Gold from American crafts to add texture.
And here is close up of the gifts inside santa's trousers...  I made this for a couple of friends of hours;  hers is a champagne flute and his is a tall glass.

I love this bag!  It's so different and such a cute idea, not to mention how awesome it is that the entire kit is totally FREE!  Yes, that's right, Mary and Leo are giving everyone a free kit - no purchase necessary!  Their generosity never ends!

Don't forget to click here to get your free kit.

Gingerbread Christmas Cards

Today I'm sharing a few of the Christmas cards that I will be sending out this year.  I just love how they turned out... This little guy from the Digi Scrap Kits Never Enough Gingerbread Clip Art  collection is my favourite!

I used three of the cards in the Sweet Designer Cards and Envelopes SVG Collection from SVGCuts as the base for all my cards.  I then filled the pieces with Rise and Shine Digital Scrapbook Paper and added different elements from the Never Enough Gingerbread Clip Art and Country Stockings Clip Art collections before I cut them out with my Cameo.
What I like most about this is that I was able to make so many different cards with just a few elements.  You can see from the below that I used the same clip art image on all three cards but they look so different just by changing up the background paper as well as the ribbon colour.
I have to make quite a few cards this year so this technique has really saved me a lot of time.    Again, on the one below, I used the same clip art image as above, just on a different card base and it gives it a totally different look.  The combinations are endless!
Well, I best get cracking on... I still have heaps to make and time is quickly running out before Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by!
